How to Set Up TiviMate IPTV
Install TiviMate on Android TV or Firestick, add your IPTV playlist, and configure the best player settings for 4K streaming.
The quick answer: Install TiviMate from Google Play on Android TV or sideload it on Firestick via Downloader, then choose "Add playlist," pick Xtream Codes or M3U, enter your credentials, and start streaming. Setup takes under 5 minutes.
Marinios IPTV supports both M3U playlists and Xtream Codes โ either works with TiviMate. TiviMate is the top-rated player for Firestick and Android TV. Browse all our IPTV apps for alternatives.
What You Need
- Android TV device or Firestick โ any Android TV box, NVIDIA Shield, Chromecast with Google TV, or Amazon Fire TV Stick. See our device list.
- IPTV credentials โ M3U URL or Xtream Codes from your provider (test with a free trial first).
- Internet at 25+ Mbps for smooth HD and 4K playback.
Method 1: Xtream Codes Setup (Recommended)
- Step 1 โ Install TiviMate. On Android TV, search for "TiviMate" in the Google Play Store and install it. On Firestick, enable "Apps from Unknown Sources," install Downloader, and sideload the TiviMate APK. See our Firestick guide for sideloading steps.
- Step 2 โ Open and add a playlist. Launch TiviMate and select "Add playlist."
- Step 3 โ Choose Xtream Codes. Select "Xtream Codes" as the playlist type. For detailed Xtream Codes info, see our Xtream Codes guide.
- Step 4 โ Enter credentials. Fill in the server URL, username, and password provided by Marinios IPTV. Double-check for typos โ a single wrong character causes a login failure.
- Step 5 โ Name it and connect. Give the playlist a name (e.g., "Marinios IPTV") and tap "Next." TiviMate will authenticate and download your channel list.
- Step 6 โ Set the default player. Go to Settings โ Playback โ Default player and select ExoPlayer for the best playback performance.
- Step 7 โ Stream. Open any channel from the guide or channel list. TiviMate handles buffering, EPG loading, and channel switching automatically.
Method 2: M3U Playlist Setup
- Step 1 โ Open TiviMate and select "Add playlist."
- Step 2 โ Choose "M3U playlist" as the type.
- Step 3 โ Paste the full M3U URL from your provider. For more about M3U, see our M3U setup guide.
- Step 4 โ Name the playlist and tap "Next." Channels will load in 30โ60 seconds.
TiviMate also works as a media player for local files. For a lightweight cross-platform alternative, check our IPTV Smarters guide or VLC guide.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
- TiviMate not on Google Play: Some older Android TV boxes lack Google Play. Use the Downloader app to install the APK directly from the TiviMate website.
- Playback stutters on 4K channels: Ensure ExoPlayer is set as default in Settings โ Playback. Close background apps and confirm your internet speed is above 25 Mbps.
- "Authorization failed": Re-enter your Xtream Codes credentials carefully. Expired subscriptions or exceeded device limits also cause this. See error code details.
- EPG not loading: Enable EPG in TiviMate settings and paste your EPG URL. Full instructions are in our EPG setup guide.
